Noack leads Suring girls cross-country team to 1st place

Suring High School's Olivia Noack won a cross-country race on Oct. 5 in Lena to help the Suring girls team to a first-place finish.

Noack completed the course in 21 minutes, 51 seconds. The girls team posted a team score of 31, comfortably ahead of Coleman (48).

The Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy co-op boys team took third on the day, while the girls co-op was fourth.

Bonduel girls 2nd at cross-country invite

The Bonduel High School girls cross-country team posted a score of 47 to take second place at the Rosholt Invite on Sept. 30 in Rosholt.

The Bonduel girls only finished behind Amherst (27). Individual runners from Marion, Menominee Indian and Wittenberg-Birnamwood also took part in the girls race.

The Witt-Birn boys claimed fifth place with a score of 141. Menominee Indian (165) was seventh and Bonduel (172) was eighth. Marion also had individual runners in action.

Algoma 14

Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy improved to 6-0 on the season after taking down Algoma in a MONLPC-East 8-player contest on Sept. 30 in Lena.

Sam Marquardt and Lane Whiting each rushed for two touchdowns, tallying 95 and 81 rushing yards, respectively. Josh Kristof had the other rushing score and Logan Shallow racked up 105 rushing yards.

The Shawano Community High School cross-country teams are enjoying fall seasons. Senior Grace Beyer has led the girls team in competition.

Beyer’s top finish of the year came on Sept. 7 when she won the Chargers Invitational in Wittenberg. She posted a time of 20 minutes, 37.8 seconds.

The senior finished sixth with a time of 20:35.74 at the Terror Invite on Aug. 30 in Neenah, while placing third in 20:31.9 at the De Pere Invitational on Sept. 2 in De Pere.

Joe Adams has been one of the Oconto Falls High School boys cross-country team’s top runners over his high school career. The senior has saved his best for last though, as he’s turned in several strong finishes already this fall.

Adams won the Bonduel Invitational on Sept. 14 in Bonduel, completing the course in 17 minutes, 20.4 seconds to help his team to a second-place finish.

Adams placed 12th at the Shawano Invitational on Sept. 11 with a time of 17:25.3.

The senior posted a time of 17:37.72 to come in fourth at the Freedom Invite on Aug. 27.

Bonduel girls cross-country team wins Eagle Invite

The Bonduel High School girls cross-country team posted a score of 28 to win the Eagle Invite on Sept. 21 in Keshena.

Suring’s Olivia Noack was the top finisher in the girls race, helping her team come in second. Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy took fifth.

Bonduel’s Cooper Uelmen was the first-place finisher in the boys race, with the Bears taking sixth as a team. Menominee Indian took third, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood was fourth and Lena/STAA fifth.

Gresham/Bowler and Marion also had individual runners compete at the invite.

Bonduel 3

Amherst 2

Bonduel took down Amherst in a Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division five-set thriller on Sept. 21 in Bonduel. The Bears won by scores of 25-18, 18-25, 25-15, 17-25, 15-12.

Hailee Thompson stuffed the stat sheet for Bonduel — posting 31 assists, 17 digs, five kills and three aces. Allaina Robaidek provided 17 kills, 11 digs and eight assists.

Eggert leads Hawks at invitational

Sophia Eggert fired a 18-hole round of 97 to lead Shawano at an invitational on Sept. 18 at Hilly Haven Golf Course in De Pere.

Shawano placed fifth at the five-team event, tallying a score of 419.

Riley Dreier carded a round of 103 for the Hawks. Alli Johnson posted a 109, while Lili Glysch tallied a 110. Braylyn Babino capped the team with a round of 122.

Shawano boys 2nd, girls 3rd at Smiley Cross-Country Invitational

The Shawano Community High School boys cross-country team earned a second-place finish in the Division 1 small school division at the Smiley Invitational on Sept. 18 in Wausau.

The Shawano girls came in third on the day.

Pulaski and Wittenberg-Birnamwood also competed at the invitational. Pulaski's girls team came in fourth, while the boys were fifth. The Witt-Birn boys claimed ninth among Division 2 teams, with the girls team taking 10th.

Oconto Falls girls 7th, boys 8th at cross-country invitational

The Oconto Falls High School girls and boys cross-country teams had top-10 finishes at a strong Shawano Invitational on Sept. 11 in Shawano.

The Oconto Falls girls came in seventh with a team score of 198, while the boys were eighth with a mark of 219. Against other Division 2 schools, the girls and boys each took third.

Hannah Ludemann and Brooke Hodkiewicz led the way for the girls team with top-20 finishes. Ludemann was the 17th runner across the finish line, posting a time of 21 minutes, 35.2 seconds. Hodkiewicz placed 20th in 21:51.4.
