Tigerton, Lena boys notch big wins

Tigerton 79, Tomahawk 40

James Brady scored 33 points and led Tigerton to a 79-40 win over Tomahawk, while also improving to 3-0 on the season.

Sam Anheuser contributed 13 points, and Brody Miller added 11 in the win over the Hatchets.

Brady also led the Tigers with 15 rebounds. Anheuser paced the team with six assists, and Caleb Dahlstrom had six steals.

Behnke bill addresses manufactured home regs

Rep. Elijah Behnke is working to pass a bill he authored that would help the manufactured home industry when it comes to financing those homes.

Behnke said Paige Huntington-Dreier and her brothers, who own and operate North Country Homes in Bonduel, approached him earlier this year about reforming Wisconsin’s outdated regulations about manufactured homes.

Hammett’s attorney preparing case for county board

Shawano County supervisors will meet Dec. 17 to take up the matter of whether to remove one of their own from the county board.

Supervisor Lowel Hammett said he intends to put up a fight to keep his position.

• Ronald E. Lee, 31, had his probation revoked Oct. 20 from a 2023 conviction for two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia to manufacture or store methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs and two counts of felony bail jumping. Judge William Kussel Jr. sentenced him Dec. 1 to five years in prison followed by seven years of extended supervision with conditions.

• Douglas Andrew Delveaux, 53, Oconto, pleaded no contest Dec. 1 to two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct. A related felony count was dismissed in a plea agreement. Judge Michael Judge withheld sentencing and placed him on one year of probation with conditions.

Madden taught as much as he learned

If you’ve spent any time in northeast Wisconsin’s Native communities, then you’ve likely met Larry Patrick Madden. Known to many by the English translation of his Mohican name Maxkweeno, Madden’s presence induced smiles and proclamations of, “The Bear Man!”
