Shawano’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2723 is aiming for a Veterans Day grand opening of its new facility, following a groundbreaking ceremony held in May.

The new post, located at South Olson and East Richmond streets, is expected to be completed by Nov. 11 with a a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.

The new building will replace the VFW’s longtime home, providing a more accessible and spacious environment for local veterans.

The existing VFW building, 202 W. Lieg Ave., is listed for sale for $170,000. It includes 2,697 square feet and is zoned residential.

Also on the sales block are Peace Untied Church of Christ, 208 E. Maurer St., and First Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Presbyterian St.

The two churches are merging and will gather at a neutral location.

Peace United Church of Christ has an asking price of $785,000. The church was built in 1957 and encompasses 13,424 square feet.

First Presbyterian Church has an asking price of $750,000. The building includes 14,841 square feet of space, and the site is 1.2 acres.

Other commercial properties listed for sale on crexi.com include 212 E. Green Bay St., $1,475,000; 1340 E. Green Bay St., $1,324,663; 1305 E. Green Bay St., $99,099; and W8884 Oak Ave., $349,000.

Honey Soul Collective Co., 144 S. Main St., celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting Sept. 27. The shop provides high-quality clothing and accessories.

It is owned by Tiana Fritsch. Previously, her products were marketed under the name Chosen Boutique from a booth at The Blend, a collaborative space for female entrepreneurs at 111 N. Main St.

Downtown Gyros Subs & More, 230 E. Green Bay St., closed its doors Sept. 19. It had been open nearly two years.

Wolf River Dental will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 24 to mark the opening of its new location at 1040 Engel Drive.

The dental office is currently located at 152 Woodlawn Drive.

Owners of the Shawano Cafe announced in September they intend to open a new restaurant, Popp’s Place, at 200 Golfview Road, Cecil.

In the same shopping center, Yami Sweeney has opened Painted Dock Nail Salon.

The Shawano County Planning, Development and Zoning Committee on Oct. 1 approved a conditional use permit related to the construction of a Dollar General at W128 Center St., Krakow.
