James J. Godin

James J. Godin, 86, of the Town of Elderon, died on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston.

James was born on March 16, 1939, in New London, the son of Elmer and Florence (Bricko) Godin.

James was a United States marine veteran, serving from 1957-61.

On April 23, 1966, James was united in marriage to DeAnna Konkol at St. Florian’s Catholic Church in Hatley.

Charles E. Bursa

Charles “Charlie” Edward Bursa, 82, of Coleman, passed away peacefully Sept. 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

He was born to the late James and Sybila (Vizelka) Bursa on March 21, 1943, in Chicago. Charlie graduated with the Oconto Falls High School class of 1961. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1964-72, a time he always held dear.

George N. Smits

George Norbert Smits, 90, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025.

George was born to the late Martin and Rose (Boehm) Smits on Jan. 12, 1935, on the family farm in the Town of Gillett. He enjoyed growing up with his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the relationships he formed with all of his nieces and nephews throughout his life.

James A. Duffy

James A. Duffy was born in Oconto Falls, along with his identical twin brother, Eugene, on May 13, 1942, to Edward and Iris (Nicholson) Duffy. He graduated from Gillett High School in 1960. On Oct. 2, 1981, he married Karen Dechamps Swaer.

Darwin Zeinert

Darwin Lee Zeinert, 84, of Tigerton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Darwin was born Feb. 26, 1941, in Shawano County, the son of Harold and Agnes (Bernarde) Zeinert.

On June 30, 1962, Darwin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Elizabeth “Betty” Krasin, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tigerton. She survives.

Frank Borghese

Frank Michael Borghese, 80, of Morgan, passed away Sept. 11, 2025.

He was born in Chicago to the late Frank A. and Mary (Scolastico) Borghese. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 53 years, Charlene (nee Tajak) Borghese.

Frank was a cardiac physiologist and also directed the cardiac department at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago and Rush North Shore Hospital in Skokie, Illinois.

Rosemary A. Solberg

Rosemary A. Solberg, 83, of Clintonville, passed away Sept. 7, 2025.
