Celebrate 15 years of trails with Shawano Pathways

Fifteen years ago, a few forward-thinking community members imagined a better future for people who bicycle and walk in Shawano County.

After a series of public information sessions sparked local interest, Shawano Pathways was born. Today, the organization is celebrating its 15th anniversary — a milestone made possible through years of dedication, collaboration and community spirit.

2 arrested in theft of equipment valued at $29K

Two males were arrested in connection with the Oct. 12 theft of nearly $29,000 in equipment from Great Lakes Veneer in Marion.

According to a police statement, five days after Marion police received the initial burglary call, officers recovered some of the stolen property from an address in the Town of Grant.

Antiques appraisal event returns to Shawano County Library

Shawano County Library presents an antiques and collectibles appraisal program featuring author and antiques expert Mark F. Moran on Nov. 10, starting at 4 p.m. at 128 S. Sawyer St., Shawano.

Shawano VFW to celebrate new building with ribbon-cutting ceremony

Shawano’s Herbert E. McLaughlin VFW Post 2723 is planning for a Veterans Day grand opening of its new facility, following a groundbreaking ceremony held in May.

The new 4,000-square-foot post, at 810 Olson St., is anticipated to be completed by Nov. 11 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon that day to mark the occasion.
