Zachow church shares resources for growth

Six years ago, Zion of Zachow — small in numbers — began a program to promote church growth and fellowship. Today, its members offer the same resources to other small congregations.

It began with an intergenerational Sunday School that is applicable to different age groups and includes adult Bible class, especially where there is no Sunday School offered. Bible study has shown to be a key resource for church growth training, conflict resolution and prevention, as well as a core component of congregational growth. Regular Sunday worship as well as an Advent Christmas and Lenten Easter Worship series were included.

About two years into the program, a three-phase church-growth resource was implemented called: “Christ’s Caring Intensified in Congregations.” One of the components of this program was a monthly prayer calendar that leads members in prayer for each other, their congregation and potential new members.

This May, members of the congregation began sending postcards to neighbors and less-active members, inviting them to attend their summer outdoor worship series, which have been well received.

The resources used in this program are available by donation so that any congregation can afford to utilize them.

Any Christian congregation that is struggling to attract and retain members is invited to learn more about this program by sending an email to info@familycrossfires.org. For information on these resources, visit familycrossfires.org.
