Witt-Birn swimmers rack up strong finishes at Bay Sprints

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School girls swim team earned several strong finishes at the Bay Conference Sprints on Oct. 20 in Shawano.

The quartet of Faith Resch, Reese Dickman, Annika Resch and Olivia Bessette won the 100-yard freestyle relay with a time of 52.99 seconds. The same four came in third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:08.25.

Jessica Storlie, Ava Hegewald, Andrea Powell and Claire Timm teamed up for a fourth-place finish in the 100 medley relay (1:06.35).

Individually, Dickman placed second in the 50 freestyle (26.22). Faith Resch placed third in the 100 freestyle (59.46) and 25 freestyle (12.25).

Shawano/Bonduel also competed at the conference event.

The 100 freestyle relay team of Alli Brown, Lila Melchoir, Tela Hopfensberger and Piper Novitski placed sixth in the 100 freestyle relay in 58.83 for the team's top finish.
