The Big Ten Conference announced plans to play a 2020 football season on Wednesday.

Big Ten teams will play 10 conference games across a 12-week span, starting the first week in September. The conference also worked two bye weeks into each team’s schedule and each team also has a bye on Nov. 28, the week before the Dec. 5 Big Ten Championship Game.

The title game could be played as late as Dec. 19 should any games need to be moved around and rescheduled.

Teams can begin preseason practices on Friday, Aug. 7.

Wisconsin will open its season with a Friday home game against Indiana on Sept. 4. The Badgers will then hit the road for games against Northwestern (Sept. 12) and Nebraska (Sept. 19).

Wisconsin will return home Sept. 26 for a game against Minnesota to wrap up the month.

The team will travel to take on Maryland (Oct. 3) and host Purdue (Oct. 10) before its first bye in week seven.

The Badgers will host Illinois (Oct. 24) and then travel to battle Michigan on Halloween before its second bye in week 10.

Wisconsin will wrap up the season with a road contest against Iowa (Nov. 14) and home game vs. Rutgers (Nov. 21).

The Big Ten also announced that the competition start dates for cross-country, field hockey, soccer and women’s volleyball have been postponed through at least Sept. 5.

Conference-only schedules for these sports will be released at a later date.
