Welfare check ends in drug arrest

Clintonville police dispatched for a welfare check at Kwik Trip on Sunday night arrested a 47-year-old Minocqua women for possession with the intent to deliver heroin.

Police were called at about 10:45 p.m. for a welfare check on a female that appeared intoxicated and had a child with her.

When officers arrived, they located the woman leaving the store and spoke to her regarding the complaint that the police department received.

While the officers were speaking with her, she reached in her pocket and multiple baggies with a powder substance fell on the ground. The woman admitted that the powder substance in the bags was heroin.

After a complete investigation, 28 individual bags were located with a total weight of 32 grams of suspected heroin.

The was transported to the Waupaca County Jail. The child that was with her was turned over to a responsible adult.
