WASP swimmers battle at state, regional championships

The Wittenberg Area Swim Program had a pair of swimmers compete at the Wisconsin Long Course State Swimming Championships on July 23-24 in Brown Deer.

Rylee Crick and Brooklynn Beran each competed in the 12-and-under division.

Crick placed 28th in the 100-meter breaststroke, 42nd in the 50 breaststroke, 56th in the 50 butterfly and 59th in the 50 backstroke.

Beran took 49th in the 50 breaststroke, 51st in the 100 breaststroke and 55th in the 50 backstroke.

A week earlier, Rylee Crick, Peyton Crick and Kaydence Crick represented WASP at the Rocket Aquatics Summer Regional Championships in Brown Deer.

Kaydence Crick and Peyton Crick each swam in the 10-and-under division, while Rylee Crick competed in the 12-and-under division.

Kaydence Crick finished seventh in the 100 breaststroke, eighth in the 100 backstroke, ninth in the 50 backstroke, 14th in the 50 backstroke, 22nd in the 100 freestyle and 25th in the 50 freestyle.

Peyton Crick placed 12th in the 100 breaststroke, 14th in the 50 butterfly and 50 backstroke, 15th in the 50 breaststroke, 26th in the 100 freestyle and 28th in the 50 freestyle.

Rylee Crick came in second in the 50 breaststroke, fifth in the 100 breaststroke, sixth in the 50 butterfly, 12th in the 100 backstroke, 13th in the 50 backstroke, 15th in the 100 freestyle and 18th in the 50 freestyle.
