Turkey harvest numbers in state already over 30K

Through May 7, a total of 31,242 turkeys had been harvested across the state, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. In 2019, 38,576 birds were harvested during the entire spring.

In zone 3, which includes most of Shawano County and small chunks of Menominee County, accounted for 8,338 turkeys, just behind zone 1 (8,454) for the most in any zone across the state.

Zone 2, which features the eastern portion of Shawano County and the southern portion of Oconto County totaled 7,131 birds. Zone 5, which includes the rest of Menominee County and the northern portion of Oconto County, tallied 1,457 harvests.
