Suring 18, Lena 6

Logan Stuart rushed for three touchdowns to help Suring overcome a penalty-filled game and move to 2-0 by taking down Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy in Lena on Thursday.

The turning point in the game was a 90-yard rushing score for Stuart on a fourth-and-1 play late in the first half.

Lena/STAA scored on the final play of the contest to avoid the shutout. The co-op dropped to 0-2.

Gibraltar 52, Gillett 26

Gillett was unable to hang with Gibraltar in the second half of a MONLPC-8 battle in Fish Creek on Thursday.

Anthony Carroll finished with 66 rushing yards and two touchdowns to lead Gillett. Quarterback Derek Block passed for 138 yards and a score while also rushing for 90 yards and another score. Wyatt Herzog caught five passes for 60 yards and a touchdown.

Gibraltar finished with 479 yards of total offense, passing for 253 yards.
