SHAWANO — A total of 13 area athletes were named to the Northern Indigenous All-State Team for 2019-20.

Shawano

Six Shawano Community High School athletes made the list.

Keith Tourtillott (Menominee Tribe) and Ben Carroll (Menominee) made the wrestling list, while Demetrius Kaquatosh (Menominee) and Alec White (Menominee) earned spots on the boys’ cross-country team.

Katie Wilber (Menominee) landed on the volleyball list, while Odessa Arce (Stockbridge-Munsee) was on the girls’ track and field team.

Four of the six athletes were seniors this year — Tourtillott, Carroll, Kaquatosh, Wilber — and each one of them will be playing the sports they were recognized in at the college level.

Menominee Indian

Five Eagles were named to all-state teams.

Raymond Fish (Menominee) and Norman Kakwitch (Menominee) were among the boys basketball players honored. Mimi Beaulieu-Morgan (Ojibwe/Menominee) made the girls basketball list.

Andre Corn (Menominee) was honored for his play on the football field, while Asenex Turney (Menominee) made the wrestling team.

Fish and Kakwitch were the only Menominee Indian seniors of the five honored, and both plan to play basketball in college.

Bowler

Two athletes from Bowler were recognized for their play.

Kayla Pecore (Stockbridge-Munsee) made the girls basketball list, while Tynea Johnson (Menominee) made the softball team.

Pecore was a senior this season and is set to play collegiate basketball this coming school year.
