Thomas S. Wawiorka

Thomas S. Wawiorka, 68, Morgan, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay, surrounded by family. The son of Leo and Anita (McDermid) Wawiorka was born Nov. 14, 1953, in Oconto Falls.

Tom graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1972. He was offered a scholarship to play football collegiately but was unable due to injuries. He was a member of International Unions of Operating Engineers Local 139 and was a heavy equipment operator for most of his working career.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved anything hunting related such as deer, rabbit, fox and coyote. He also loved making wood. Spending time at “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” in Crooked Lake was a favorite pastime for Tom. He was obsessed with the color orange and loved his Alice Chalmers. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Katie (Adam) Peebles; a brother and his family, Robbie (Jackie) Wawiorka and their children, Lee, Anna, and Henry; two sisters and families, Ruth Magee, and her children, Adam, Erin, and Jaimie, and Diane Trevarthen and her sons, Michael and David; the mother of his daughter, Jolene Brusky; a great-niece, KylaRayne; and his beloved beagle, Tiger.

In addition to his parents, Leo and Anita, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Wawiorka; his hunting buddies, Russ Hudson, Russ VanDenLangenberg and Jim Schweda; and his dog, Smedley.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Tuesday, July 19, from 3-6 p.m. There will be a time for memory sharing beginning at 6 p.m.

The family would like to thank caregiver Tina Slezewski for all of her care and support over the past year and the third floor staff at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay for their care and compassion over the past week.
