Swimmers raise more than $2,000

Proceeds to be used for equipment purchases and coaching fees

More than $2,000 was raised at the recent swim-a-thon to benefit the Wittenberg Area Swim Program (WASP).

Swimmers raised funds from pledges on a per-lap basis.

Proceeds will be used for equipment purchases and coaching fees.

Among those participating in the swim-a-thon fundraiser were Myles Sauter, Lucy Wierzba, Emma Quade, Jessica Quade, Brinley Wierzba, Grace Hegewald, Halley Innes, Kaydence Crick, Peyton Crick, Evelyn Hegewald, Rylee Crick, Elizabeth Behnke, Alayna Rasmussen and Aislyn Sauter.

The next season for WASP swimmers starts April 23. Registration will be from 1-2 p.m. April 7 at the Darwin E. Smith Community Aquatic Center, located next to the high school in Wittenberg.
