Four people were injured, three seriously, in a head-on collision on a snow-covered Oconto County road in the Town of Spruce the evening of Nov. 15.

According to an Oconto County Sheriff’s Department traffic report, officials were notified just after 7:15 p.m. that two vehicles had collided on County Road B about 1,000 feet south of Arndt Road.

The report said a northbound pickup truck driven by Alec John Halvorsen, 19, of Oconto Falls, began to fishtail on the snowy road, crossed the center line and collided with a southbound pickup driven by Adam William Osweiler, 37, of Lena.

The two drivers and two passengers were taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Halvorsen was listed as having a suspected minor injury, while the report says injuries were suspected to be serious for Osweiler, his passenger Jason Osweiler, 9, and Halvorsen’s passenger, Odin John Halvorsen, 22, of Suring.

County Road B was closed for more than an hour until the crash scene could be cleared, the report said. Oconto County sheriff’s deputies handled more than 40 crashes Nov. 15-17 after the first significant snowfalls of the season.
