Shawano, W-B runners compete at Wausau

Leading the way at the cross country meet Sept. 14 at Horace Mann Middle School in Wausau were Shawano’s Bryant Waupoose, placing fifth among Division 1 and Division 2 boys in 12:12, and Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Harper Krull, placing fourth among D1 and D2 girls in 13:41.

Several hundred runners from dozens of schools participated.

Shawano boys finishing in the top 100 were Quinten Harkey in 22nd, Teagan Harkey in 30th, Nolan Stubbier in 34th, Aloysius Frechette in 47th, Blake Otto in 76th, Aiden Arrowood in 81st and Beckett Hendricks in 88th.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood boys racing to a top 100 finish were Landon Meronk in 40th, Spencer Uttecht in 42nd and Frank Wierzba in 55th.

In places from 101-200 were Shawano runners Derrick Lyons, Kiernan Sheldon, Brayden Fish, Caleb Zierden, Blake Weishoff, Beau Grenke, Riley McCloy, Jacoby Grignon and Charlie Mailahan, and Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Maksym Guk, Monty Salveson, Coleman Mueller, Blake Meverden and Flynn Bushman.

Also competing were Shawano’s Maddin Prey, Aiden Bowman, Everett Rekow, Percy Fisher and Charlie Grieves, as well as W-B’s Christian Lex and Paxton Brophy.

W-B girls in the top 100 were Delilah Scharier in 34th, Brielle Rose in 39th, Lucy Miller in 73rd and Gracey Rekow in 97th. Shawano’s top 100 included Zoe Sipple in 46th, Evelyn Kuehl in 58th, Mikelah Powers in 59th, Madilyn Powers in 62nd, Delaney Pensis in 76th and Ashley Beaumeir in 99th.

From 101-200 were Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Sophie Wendler and Izzi Clark, as well as Shawano’s Cadence Kuczer, McKenna Miller, Clara Kuczer, Ruby Onesti, Lorelai Hancock and Gracie Curtin.

Also racing were Mya Coffey and Evelyn Mathwitch, both for Shawano, and Josephina Ladika, Felicia Carlson and Elena Waldvogel, all for W-B.
