Seniors reminded of Medicare deadlines

KESHENA — Medicare recipients and those eligible for those federal benefits have two important December deadlines approaching, said Lynnette Maskewit, Menominee tribal/county elder benefits specialist.

The first is Saturday, when 2020 insurance program enrollments are due, Maskewit said. This can be a surprise to those she called “the newly 65-ers,” or people who recently turned 65 years of age.

The second deadline is Dec. 31, when seniors who have selected a different insurance plan for 2020 must dis-enroll in their 2019 program, she said.
