Sandra L. Vann

Sandra L. Vann, 79, of Kelly Lake, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at Bellin Memorial Hospital with family by her side.

Sandy was born on March 31, 1944, to the late Herbert and Grace (Pecard) Hansen.

Sandy attended Oconto Falls High School and graduated in 1962. On Oct. 3, 1966, Sandy married Bernard “Vann” Vann, and the couple made their home in Milwaukee. There, Sandy worked for Wisconsin Liquor as a bookkeeper. They later moved back to the family home on Kelly Lake to help care for her mother, Grace. Sandy also worked for CESA 8 as a secretary until she retired. Sandy and Vann celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary with cake at the nursing home before Vann passed away on Oct. 11, 2019.

Sandy is survived by many cousins and friends who loved her. Sandy was known for her passion to find treasures at rummage sales, estate sales and flea markets. She was also a great family historian who had a wonderful memory for the family genealogy. Many family stories were told with family members over coffee or enjoying a meal by the lake.

The family wishes to thank Dr. William Wittman for his years of caring for Sandy’s medical needs. We also want to acknowledge the nurses and staff at Bellin Memorial Hospital ICU for their kindness and care during Sandy’s final stay. Finally, the family wishes to recognize Sandy’s guardian angel, Kay Lucas, who helped Sandy remain in her home as her medical and emotional needs increased.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Romy’s Holiday Inn at Kelly Lake from noon until the memorial service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Reggie Reinhold officiating. A celebration of Sandy’s life will follow, with a meal included. This was originally planned to be a party for Sandy’s 80th birthday, which she was so looking forward to.
