Roy E. Ganzel

Roy E. Ganzel, Sarasota, Florida, and Shawano, 95, departed this earth for his heavenly home on Aug. 11, 2022, at Theda Care, Appleton, after a brief illness.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1927, to the late Edward and Leone Ganzel in Seymour. As a young boy growing up, he came from the “old school” one room and one teacher, for all eight grades. He worked on the family dairy farm and his father’s construction company. At 20 years old he started his own construction business, became a Master Plumber and continued to work in construction his entire life. He also worked many years as a superintendent for Layton Builders in Milwaukee, and then returned to work again in the Shawano area.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Audrey, who was blessed to enjoy 56 years together, and her son Brian (Julie) Krueger (Bonita Springs, Florida, and Sayner). He is further survived by his children, Mary Ganzel (Appleton), Sue (Larry) Habeck (Cascade), Debbie (Jeff) Kottke (Weyauwega), and Tom Ganzel (Appleton), his brother Terry Ganzel (Lakeland, Florida), and also survived by many grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lawrence (Rose) Ganzel, his sister Virginia (George) Wieseler, and his daughter Kris Joosten.

No funeral services will be conducted at this time. Inurnment will be followed by a service at St. Armand’s Key Lutheran Church this fall. Memorials may be made in Roy’s name to St. Armand’s Foundation at 40 N. Adams Drive, Sarasota, FL 34236.
