Roger H. Carlson

Roger H. Carlson, 90, of Wittenberg, passed away at Homme Home in Wittenberg, on Nov. 12, 2019, under the care of Le Royer Hospice. He was born Sept. 15, 1929, the son of the late A. Edwin and Emily (Norrbom) Carlson. On May 2, 1953, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Madson. She survives. Roger was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country in World War II.

He worked for Marathon Electric in Wausau until his retirement. He loved country music, his horses, playing guitar and being with all his family. He always had a smile.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beatrice. He is further survived by two sons, Dean (Pam) Carlson and Rex (Lisa) Carlson, both of Wittenberg; a daughter, Joy (Gerald) Tryba, of Hatley; 10 grandchildren, Brett Carlson, Melanie Mackay, Nicholas (Courtney ) Tryba, Katey (Tyler) Knudsen, David Tryba, Tyler Tryba, Corey (Jenny) Roth, Beth Bula, Lindsey (Noah) King and Michelle Roth; eight great-grandchildren, Phoenix Mackay, Isabelle Tryba, Gabriella Tryba, Kaden Knudsen, Caidyn Roth, Gunnar Roth, Bailey Roth and Zachary Bula. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Adolph, Art, John “Don” and Norman “Doc”; two sisters, Florence Wolff and Edna Manta; and infant son, Russell.
