One favorite will replace another in Shawano’s restaurant landscape.
Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, 1398 E. Green Bay St., will become an IHOP restaurant in December.
“Perkins will be transitioning into an IHop in the near future,” according to a social media post authored by “management.” “With that being said our staff is very happy. I hope that we have the support and patience of our community as we close one chapter and open the next.”
The first International House of Pancakes opened in 1958 in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Fifteen years later, in 1973, a marketing campaign introduced the IHOP name.
Since then, more than 1,650 restaurants have opened across the United States and the world.
