Oconto Falls boys 1st, girls 3rd at cross-country invite
The Oconto Falls High School boys cross-country team earned a first-place finish among the small division schools during the Freedom Invite on Aug. 27 in Freedom.
The Oconto Falls boys earned a score of 54, comfortably ahead of second-place finishing Northland Pines (72) and third-place finishing Gillett (84).
Joe Adams and Ben Adams paced the Panthers, placing fourth and eighth, respectively. Joe Adams finished the course in 17 minutes, 37.72 seconds, while Ben Adams finished with a mark of 18:55.63.
Griffin Kopke (19:26.55), Grant Yuma (19:44.77), Emerson Rice (21:07.64) and Brant Laluzerne (21:24.83) also ran for the Oconto Falls boys, placing 11th, 13th, 30th and 32nd, respectively.
Gillett's Alex Peterson was the top-finishing individual in the small division with a time of 17:01.05.
Evan Peterson (17:34.2) placed third, while Connor Hanson (19:15.56) was 10th. Scott Herroux (22:13.27), Zander Davis (23:32.8) and Virgil Herzog (29:50.21) filled out the team, taking 37th, 46th and 51st, respectively.
The Oconto Falls placed third with a score of 94, while Gillett (107) took fourth. Assumption (55) and Weyauwega-Fremont (79) took first and second, respectively.
Hannah Ludemann (22:26.24) and Brooke Hodkiewicz (22:28.61) led the Panthers by placing eighth and 10th, respectively.
Hailey Delzer (23:42.09), Maddy Przybylski (24:32.35), Ava Hodkiewicz (25:51.97), Sydney Bell (25:53.67) and Brooke Senn (30:53.97) filled out the team, taking 19th, 28th, 38th, 39th and 56th, respectively.
Carleigh Kaczmarek was Gillett's top girls runner, placing fourth in 21:41.34. Angela Mosconi (22:29.39) came in 12th.
Cheyenne Krueger (24:32.07), Alaina Herzog (25:11.77), Laney DeBauch (25:50.49) and Amber Brehmer (26:51.41) filled out the six-runner team, finishing 27th, 35th, 37th and 44th, respectively.
