Proceedings of Sept. 1
• Bond was set at $50,000 for Zachary Andrew Zastawniak, 23, Peshtigo, after he was charged with three counts of child enticement for sexual contact, three counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child, four counts of felony bail jumping, two counts of soliciting a child for prostitution, two counts of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime, two counts of threats to communicate derogatory information and one count of trafficking of a child, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred June 28, June 30 and July 28. Judge Jay Conley adjourned his initial appearance until Sept. 14.
Proceedings of Aug. 31
• Sarah Irene DeBenedetto, 40, Oconto, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 3. Judge Michael Judge scheduled a plea hearing for Sept. 12.
Proceedings of Aug. 30
• Cannon Edward Verkuilen, 29, Kaukauna, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to possession with intent to deliver amphetamine or methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of cocaine, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 7. Judge scheduled a preliminary hearing for Oct. 12.
Proceedings of Aug. 29
• Robert T. Albert II, 51, Oconto, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing THC, drug paraphernalia and illegally obtained prescription drugs, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 7. Judge scheduled a bail/bond hearing for Sept. 8 and a pre-trial conference for Oct. 12.
• Michael K. Berck, 51, Green Bay, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on charges of the manufacture and delivery of psilocybin, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, manufacture and delivery of THC, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of THC (second or subsequent offense), possession of amphetamine/THC/psilocin (second or subsequent offense), and misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 25. Conley scheduled arraignment for Sept. 14.
Proceedings of Aug. 28
• A March 26-28 jury trial was scheduled for Cody John Krueger, 36, an Algoma man currently serving time at Green Bay Correctional Institution, on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, armed robbery and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred in Oconto on Sept. 3, 2021. Krueger is also awaiting trial on two counts second-degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer and misdemeanor driving while his license was revoked, in connection with his arrest a week later on Sept. 10, 2021. Judge scheduled a status conference for Jan. 29.
• Bond was set at $50,000 cash for Kelly S. Urbanek, 61, Oconto, after he was charged with two counts of repeated sexual assault of the same child and one count of first-degree sexual assault of a child younger than 13. Judge adjourned his initial appearance until Sept. 14.
• Shannon R. Tuchscherer, 50, Gillett, pleaded no contest to theft in a business setting, in connection with an incident that occurred Jan. 10. Conley scheduled sentencing for Nov. 20 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.
• Patricia Lu Denny, 57, Green Bay, pleaded no contest to two counts of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor counts of possession of THC and resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that occurred Sept. 25, 2020. Judge scheduled sentencing for Oct. 24 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.
