Milling and paving of Green Bay Street to begin next week

Following is the weekly update on the state Department of Transportation’s construction project along state Highway 22 in Shawano, provided by JT Engineering, Inc., the contractor on the project.

Work since last update:

• Contractors to continue work on reconstructing ADA compliant curb ramps on Green Bay Street.

• Railroad crossing reconstruction is underway, with installation of new track and new signals/gates.

Anticipated work schedule for week of Aug. 5:

• Continue work on the new box culvert at Murray Creek.

• Continue replacing curb ramps on westbound Green Bay Street.

• Continue removals and installation of new curb ramps on Main Street between County Road B and Zingler Avenue.

• Begin milling and paving operations on Green Bay Street between County Road HHH (Airport Road) and Main Street.

Traffic impacts:

• Single lane closures and 10-foot lane widths on Highway 22 between County Road HHH (Airport Road) and County Road BE will continue through September.

• Single lane closures on Highway 22 between Main Street and County Road HHH will continue.

• Green Bay Street will remain closed at the railroad crossing between Hamlin and Ellis Streets. A signed detour will be in place utilizing Main Street to state Highway 29 to Airport Road. No access across the railroad will be allowed as it will be under construction. Access to businesses and residents within the closure limits will be maintained. Work along Green Bay Street outside the road closure limits will continue with lane closures. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained.
