The Marion/Tigerton and Gresham/Bowler football co-ops had players make the Central Wisconsin Conference 8-player all-conference team.

Marion/Tigerton senior Charles Schweitzer made the first team as an offensive and defensive lineman. Sophomore Nick Malueg (running back) also made the first team, while senior Carter Goke (offensive lineman) was on the second team.

Along with leading the offensive line, Schweitzer finished as the co-op’s top tackler on defense. He finished with 27 total tackles, five tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

Malueg led the team’s running game, accumulating 470 yards and five touchdowns behind the blocking of Schweitzer, Goke and the rest of the offensive line. Malueg also caught four passes for 46 yards and another touchdown.

Gresham/Bowler had one player honored by the conference. Senior Lane Schultz (running back) made the second team.

“It is a great accomplishment, but I am more thankful that all my teammates got to play this season and stay healthy,” said Schultz. “We have a great group of young athletes, and I hope they keep pushing to get better. We have a bright future.

“With this being my last season,” he continued, “I just want to say thanks for the recognition and a huge thanks to my team for working hard this season and staying safe through the pandemic.”
