Man dies, girl injured, in Oconto County motorcycle crash

UPDATE: Oconto County officials on Thursday identified the victim of the crash as Troy R. Hruska. The girl sustained what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

LITTLE RIVER — A Marinette man died after his motorcycle hit a deer Tuesday night, June 2, in Oconto County.

According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the 50-year-old man and his passenger, a 15-year-old girl also from Marinette, were northbound on U.S. 41 near County Road A around 7:54 p.m. when the vehicle struck a deer, which caused him to lose control and tip the motorcycle on its side.

The two riders were taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, where he died a short time later of his injuries. The extent of the girl’s injuries was not released.
