Woman’s throat cut in town of Wittenberg

WITTENBERG — A 31-year-old Hortonville man was arrested late Tuesday in connection with a stabbing incident in the town of Wittenberg.

Authorities received a 911 call at about 10:42 p.m. stating that a 34-year-old Wittenberg woman had her throat cut by the man while on U.S. Highway 45 in the town of Wittenberg.

The preliminary investigation indicates the woman had been driving a vehicle with the man and her 4-year-old daughter as passengers. The vehicle stopped on the side of the roadway and a struggle ensued, ending with the female being stabbed and having her throat cut with a knife by the male passenger, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.

A passerby picked up the woman and her daughter, transporting them to a safe location, where Shawano County sheriff’s deputies and the Tigerton Ambulance Service provided medical attention and transported her to a medical facility.

The man was found on the scene of the incident and was taken into custody.

This incident is under investigation and no further information was available as of press time.
