Lynn W. Weatherwax

By:

Lynn W. Weatherwax, 70, of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, July 15, 2022.

Lynn was born Nov. 4, 1951, in Green Bay as the son of the late William and Adeline (Kruse) Weatherwax, the second of their four children. He graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1970 and worked for a number of different places throughout his life. Most of his jobs were construction related and he was currently working for Shawano County.

Although Lynn enjoyed his alone time, he definitely was good at making friends. He looked forward to playing cards with the crew at Korth’s Badger Tap whenever he wasn’t working and was a longtime member at the Clintonville Trap Club, where he also volunteered to help teach the local youth the art of trap shooting. Lynn also enjoyed shooting archery with his friends in league as well as pool and dart leagues. He was a current member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano and also attended St. Martin Lutheran in Belle Plaine.

Lynn always seemed to be outdoors. Whether he was chasing big bucks or fishing with family or friends, he cherished time in God’s creation. He could often be found cutting firewood, snowmobiling, or simply taking a long walk. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he was the glue of his family. For the past nine years, he was blessed to have a relationship with his soulmate, Teri, and loved spending time with her family. Above all, he kept faith in his Lord and never lost sight of God’s promise.

Survivors include his brothers, Gerald (Sally) and Roger (Annmarie) Weatherwax; sister, Valerie (Scott) Surber; nieces and nephews, Mike (Holly) Weatherwax, Jamie (Jason) Denzin and children Kerea and Jalen, Kristin (Aaron) Ehlinger and children Alena and Ella, Ryan Weatherwax, Adam (fiance Juliana Beil) Weatherwax, Blake Weatherwax, Jenny (Brian Quandt) Tischauser and children Desiree, Anthony, and Ethan, Stephanie (Matt) Mielke and children Emma, Grayson, and Granger, and Brooke (fiance Trent Nolan) Surber; his soulmate, Teri Zschaechner; and Lynn’s extended family: Heidi (Jim) Green and children Rebecca, Ethan, Ben, Timothy, and Evelyn, Nathan (Melissa) Zschaechner and children Mason and Morgan, Kristel (Matt) Galland and children Joshua and Logan, and Kevin (Sherry) Zschaechner and children Kaylin, Karter, and Kolten.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents.

Lynn’s funeral service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine with the Rev. Kurt Kluge officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory in Clintonville and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established by Lynn’s family.
