LETTER: Avenue of Lights received much support

To the editor:

The holiday season has come and gone, and the Oconto Falls Lioness Club is once again grateful to the community for a successful Avenue of Lights display.

Thank you to the following sponsors for making this display possible: Platinum Sponsor, Oconto Falls Lions Club; Gold Sponsor, Oconto Falls Area Chamber of Commerce; Silver Sponsors, United True Value, Mercier’s Fastop, Oconto Falls Insurance Center, McDermid Transportation, Luisier Well Drilling Inc., Oconto Falls Pharmacy, Hometown Veterinary Clinic, and HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital.

A huge thank you also goes out to all of the individuals and businesses who decorated trees and displays; your lights are what really make the Avenue of Lights shine as a community event with community support. We are so thankful for your support.

The lights could not go on without the generous support of the employees of the Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities. Thank you for hanging lights (and taking them down) from the large trees that we are not able to reach.

Thank you to Erica Beaumier, who organizes and orchestrates everything that happens to make this display possible, as well as the many Lioness Club members, spouses, children, and community members who dedicate countless hours to putting up and taking down the lights and displays.

Our lighting ceremony is magical because of the generous support of the Oconto Falls Fire Department, Amy Thiel and OFHS choir members, and Iverson’s Piggly Wiggly. Our event would not be complete without Santa and Mrs. Claus; thank you for blessing us with your presence and bringing smiles to so many little faces.

We look forward to working with you all again in 2022.
