Lawrence ‘Red’ Brenwall
Lawrence “Red” Brenwall, age 84, of Suring, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Serenity Gardens Assisted Living Center.
Red was born in Phelps on Aug. 6, 1939, to the late John and Leona (Van Houton) Brenwall, the oldest of four children. He graduated from Phelps High School and married Sandra Firgens on Nov. 3, 1962, at the Evangelical United Brethern Church in Hayes. The couple celebrated 52 years of marriage before Sandra’s passing in 2015.
Red was a loving husband, dad, brother, uncle and grandfather. He loved spending time with family and friends who affectionately referred to him as “Red Dog.” During his lifetime, he had many pursuits including trappings, fishing and trap shooting. Red was active in the Breed Trap Club, the Wisconsin Trappers Association, fishing and deer hunting. He also educated youths on resource conservation. For many years, Red was an active member of Suring United Methodist Church.
Red is survived by his two sons, Mike (Sue) Brenwall of Green Bay and Dale (Kathy) Brenwall of Suring; daughter-in-law, Sheila Brenwall of De Pere; grandchildren, Derek (Hannah) of Minneapolis, Brett of Green Bay, Jacob (Demitria) of Milwaukee, Kendall (Zach) Buda of Green Bay, Payton of Appleton, Zach Sheikh of Green Bay and Seth Sheikh of Green Bay; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Abrahm; brother, Ron (Blanche) Brenwall of Suring. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra; son, Douglas; two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Brenwall.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until the funeral service at 5 p.m. with Pastor Dominic Petit officiating.
