Keshena man faces meth, firearms charges

A Keshena man was indicted this week in federal court on methamphetamine and firearm charges.

Peter D. Boyd, 36, possessed with the intent to distribute at least 50 grams (1.76 ounces) of methamphetamine on Oct. 15, according to the indictment. The indictment also alleged that Boyd possessed a firearm in furtherance of the alleged drug trafficking offense.

Boyd faces penalties of five to 40 years in prison if convicted of the methamphetamine charge and five years to life in prison on the firearms offense. The court could also impose a fine and a period of supervised release.

Boyd is in custody at the Menominee Tribal Detention Facility, according to court records.

No court dates have been set in the case as of Dec. 15.
