JoAnn H. Thiede, 79, of Clintonville, formerly of the Town of Lessor, Shawano County, passed away at her home Friday evening, Oct. 23, 2020.

JoAnn Hermine Domine was born Aug. 30, 1941, in Springfield, Minnesota, as the daughter of the late Charlie and Gladys (Beerman) Domine. She graduated from Wabasso High School in 1959 and on May 5, 1962, was united in marriage to Michael Thiede Sr. in Wanda, Minnesota. The couple moved to the Milwaukee area for Michael’s work, while JoAnn worked as a secretary off and on over the years as she raised their children.

In 1970, they moved to the Town of Lessor, where they became members of Our Savior’s Christian Church. JoAnn was very active at church, not only as their secretary but also using her quilting and sewing talents. JoAnn also served the church as a member of the Ladies Aid, and she helped to arrange their annual chili suppers with her husband, Michael.

JoAnn and Michael loved to travel together and spent many wonderful years camping and sight-seeing. JoAnn’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to spending time with her girlfriends playing cards and always put God and her family first.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Thiede Sr.; children, Terri Jo (Luke) Erb, Michael (Lisa) Thiede Jr., Scott (special friend Missy) Thiede, and Becky (Robert) Thorn; grandchildren, Tessa Jo (Chad) Hogan, Tamra (fiance David Nessler) Erb, Tasia Erb, Ezra Erb, Josh (Katy) Thiede, Zach Thiede, Sonya Christianson, Ian, Aubrey, Ashleigh and Austin Thorn; great-grandchildren, Tori Jo Hogan and Cayde Thiede; and siblings, Betty Evers and Merle (Betty) Domine.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Delores (Walt) Schoper.

JoAnn’s memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Christian Church, N1731 County Road S, Pulaski. Pastor Mike Dismer will officiate, and visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. JoAnn’s family asks that those attending please wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to CurePSP (psp.org) to help in the fight against Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
