Five dates in August are set for Wittenberg-Birnamwood fall athletes needing an ImPACT test.

Athletes should check their fall sport registration letter to see if they need the test. If athletes do not have the letter, email Chris Nier, Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School’s athletic director, at cnier@wittbirn.k12.wi.us.

Nier will be at the high school to administer the tests.

Aug. 3 is the first scheduled date for testing, with times of 7, 8 and 9 a.m. Testing will take place at the same times on Aug. 4.

Another round of testing will take place Aug. 11 at 7, 8 and 9 a.m.

The fourth day for testing is Aug. 17, again at 7, 8 and 9 a.m.

The final day to test is Aug. 24, with times of 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.

Tests will start at the beginning of each hour listed. If athletes show up in the middle of the time slots, they will have to wait until the next hour.

Nier believes the testing will take place in the high school’s library. Athletes are to bring their Chomebrooks.

Any questions can be emailed to Nier.

Registering for sports

Online athletic registration begins July 1, with athletes being urged to sign up as soon as they can.

High school athletes may pay their $25 sports fee online when they register for the test. The $25 fee must be paid before an athlete practices.

First fall practices

Should fall sports start on time, high school football players will be the first ones on a practice field. Equipment handout is scheduled for 8 a.m. at the high school on Aug. 3, with the first practice the following day.

Middle school football players can pick up equipment at the high school Aug. 18, with Aug. 24 being the first day of practice.

The high school girls swim team will dive into the pool on Aug. 11, with the high school and middle school cross-country teams starting practice Aug. 17.

The high school volleyball team will also have its first practice Aug. 17, while the middle school team starts practicing Aug. 24.
