Howard’s first indoor golf facility to open

This time of year golf enthusiasts are usually getting ready to pack up their golf clubs for the long Wisconsin winter. Local residents Andrew Hucek and Daniel Johnson seek to help golfers keep their game alive year round by opening Howard’s first indoor virtual golf facility. Golfers will get the opportunity to play some of the world’s most famous courses on large, high-tech golf simulators.

The Clubhouse Indoor Golf, 2445 Lineville Road, is located next to the Piggly Wiggly and scheduled to open this weekend. Hucek and Johnson co-own the business with their spouses, Jennifer Chamberlain and Angela Johnson.

The 5,000-square-foot facility features five simulators using sophisticated Full Swing golf simulation technology. As an official licensee of the PGA Tour, Full Swing is the only simulator that can bring visitors TPC Sawgrass and many other favorite tour stops. Full Swing uses patented technology that tracks the ball flight with no delay into the virtual world, just like it would on an actual golf course.

Players can choose to play many golf courses from around the world, or just work on their swing on a simulated driving range. Players can also compete in head-to-head golf competitions and skill contests using Showdown Golf. Three of the simulators feature 16’ 5” wide screens, the first in the Green Bay area.

The Clubhouse welcomes people of all ages and skill levels. For the serious golfer who wants to work on improving his or her game, Full Swing technology can provide many specific swing details, like club speed and club face position when striking the ball.

For people who just want to try something new in a relaxed atmosphere, select simulators offer a multisport experience with over 13 sports, including football, baseball, soccer, and simulator-exclusive games like zombie dodgeball. The Clubhouse also boasts a private event room for customers to book private gatherings and parties for any occasion. The facility offers a full bar, along with a menu of appetizers and flatbreads.

“We are excited to be adding indoor virtual golf to the local community. We look forward to providing an entertaining indoor golf experience for the seasoned player to the golf novice alike,” Hucek said.

Simulators can be rented by the hour by booking on the The Clubhouse website, www.TheClubhouseGB.com. The Clubhouse intends to add winter leagues and professional golf lessons and will be gauging customer interest in the first few months of being open. Those who are interested in joining a mailing list may sign up on the website.

The facility is scheduled to be open 3-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, noon-10 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
