Homme Home in Wittenberg sent out letters to residents and family members informing them that they can now accept visitors.

Homme has been on lockdown since March, and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is allowing outside visits at this time.

There are still many restrictions for both Homme and visitors to follow. But according to Brad Davis, director of nursing, family and residents will be happy to follow them for the chance to meet in person.

The visits must be arranged in advance with 45-minute sessions Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., weather permitting. Only two visitors at a time may meet with one resident.

Homme has set up tented areas for the visits near the front entrance. There is a check-in station where all visitors will be screened for fever and signs and symptoms of COVID-19. They will be required to sign an attestation that they understand the risk of the visit to the resident.

Social distancing and mask wearing will be required at all times, and the spaces Homme has set up makes the six-foot distance requirement easy to maintain.

Children are allowed to visit as along as they are old enough to wear a mask for the entire visit and are able to remain under the control of the adult visitor to ensure social distancing.

The visitations can only occur when there are no active cases of COVID-19 for Homme residents and staff.

The restrictions are set by the state and subject to change.

Outdoor visitation began Aug. 19, and the website www.homme.org will provide regular updates. A copy of the letter can be found on Homme’s Facebook page.
