VOLLEYBALL

Bonduel wins tournament

Bonduel defeated Denmark (25-17, 25-22), Mishicot (25-23, 25-14), Sevastopol (25-19, 25-18), Two Rivers (25-8, 25-21) and Algoma (25-16, 25-20) to win the Algoma Tournament on Sept. 24 in Algoma.

In the win over Denmark, Hailee Thompson tallied 21 assists and eight digs for Bonduel, while Audrey Weier had 10 kills. Abby Stoltenow posted 10 digs and Josie Anvelink had five kills. Thompson recorded 16 assists and 13 digs against Mishicot, Macy Niles was credited with 13 digs and four aces and Weier had eight kills.

Nakiyah Henning provided seven digs and five kills in the Bears' win over Sevastopol. Weier finished with eight kills, while Thompson had 11 digs and nine assists. Thompson then had 14 assists and five kills against Two Rivers, with Niles contributing 12 digs and Weier tallying seven kills and seven digs.

In the championship match against Algoma, Weier had 12 kills for Bonduel. Niles and Stoltenow recorded 10 and eight digs, respectively, while Thompson had 11 assists and three kills.

Panthers win West De Pere Invitational

Oconto Falls topped Sheboygan Falls (25-10, 25-17), Marinette (25-13, 25-20), Oconto (25-19, 25-23), West De Pere (25-20, 25-23) and Kiel (25-20, 25-10) to win the West De Pere Invitational on Sept. 24 in De Pere.

In the championship match against Kiel, Amber Otto led Oconto Falls with eight attack kills, while Brailyn St. Louis had seven and Tess Maggio six. Otto also served four aces. Hanna Krejcarek posted three aces, nine digs and 12 assists for the Panthers, while Kyndra Staidl had 16 digs.

St. Louis led the Panthers with eight attack kills against West De Pere, with Otto chipping in six kills and 11 digs. Maggio tallied three blocks, Staidl totaled 14 digs and Krejcarek and Morgan Moynihan posted 13 and 11 assists, respectively. Krejcarek finished with 10 digs and 13 assists in the win over Oconto. Otto led the team with nine attack kills and added eight digs, while Maggio and St. Louis had six attack kills each. Staidl posted 13 digs and Moynihan had eight assists.

Otto recorded seven attack kills, three aces and eight digs against Marinette. Staidl tallied 12 digs, while Moynihan and Krejcarek had seven and six assists, respectively. St. Louis led the Panthers with eight attack kills against Sheboygan Falls, while Otto had seven attack kills and three aces. Maggio recorded three blocks, Staidl totaled 12 digs and Krejcarek led the team with 16 assists.

Bowler goes 0-3 at quad

Bowler dropped matches to Crandon (25-11, 25-13), Reedsville (25-21, 25-17) and Manawa (25-16, 25-10) during a quad on Sept. 24 in Manawa.

In the setback to Manawa, Bowler's Brandi Spencer tallied four assists and three digs for Bowler. Natalie Rickert and Isabella Stevens also had three digs each.

Stevens tallied five kills and eight digs against Reedsville. Ava Paiser recorded seven assists and four digs, while Rickert had eight digs. Spencer was credited with six assists, and Paige Treptow had six digs.

Paiser finished with five digs and three kills against Crandon. Spencer chipped in four assists and four digs, while Treptow had six more digs. Rickert tallied five digs in the contest.

Pulaski 6

Seymour 3

Pulaski doubled up Seymour in a nonconference match on Sept. 24 in Pulaski.

Ryan Drafz recorded a hat trick to lead Pulaski to victory. He also was credited with an assist when Hayden Burkel scored.

Chase Ambrosius assisted on one of the goals from Drafz in the first half. Ambrosius also assisted on a goal by Austin Lipsey. Donovan Holderness scored Pulaski's other goal.

Pulaski goalie Mason Baker made six saves while defending the net.

FOOTBALL

Shawano 52

Winneconne 49

Shawano earned a wild Bay Conference win over Winneconne on Sept. 24 in Shawano. Quarterback Jerzy Brocker connected with Jacob Landon on a 10-yard passing touchdown with nine seconds left to help the Hawks prevail.

Shawano trailed early on but scored the next five touchdowns to lead 33-6. Later on, the Hawks led 39-14 before Winneconne started chipping away.

Winneconne got within 11 points by halftime and then took the lead with two quick scores in the third quarter.

Shawano went back ahead with about five minutes left in the game, but Winneconne quickly retook the lead. The Hawks then marched 62 yards in about two minutes to go ahead for good.
