VOLLEYBALL

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 3

Weyauwega-Fremont 0

Wittenberg-Birnamwood secured the Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division title by sweeping Weyauwega-Fremont in Wittenberg on Tuesday. The Chargers won by scores of 25-19, 26-24, 25-14.

Abi Fraaza led Witt-Birn with 10 kills, while Reese Rogowski had nine. McKenna Metropulos set up the team’s attackers, tallying 27 assists.

Elizabeth Muscha, Nicole Kielman and Amara Schoepke all provided strong serving for the Chargers, with Muscha tallying three aces and Kielman and Schoepke two each. Muscha also had five digs.

“Very excited to be conference champs again,” said Witt-Birn coach Becky Rew. “We started very strong, relaxed a little bit in the second set, but fought back with a seven-point run to regain the lead and played strong from there till the end. It was a great way to finish conference play.”

Tigerton 3

Marion 1

Tigerton took down Marion in a CWC-North match in Tigerton on Tuesday. The Tigers won by scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-23.

Savannah Swartz led Tigerton with seven kills, 10 digs, 14 service points and four aces, while Ladia Block had six kills and 16 digs. Adrienne Brady led the team with 12 assists and added four kills and five digs.

Tigerton’s Elizabeth Robbins contributed seven assists, eight service points and five digs, while Skyler Hauser had seven digs and three kills. Colleen Smith posted four kills, while Abby Swartz had three.

Gresham 3

Almond-Bancroft 0

Gresham swept Almond-Bancroft in a CWC crossover match in Almond on Tuesday. The Wildcats won by scores of 25-11, 25-19, 25-18.

Karisa Nietzer finished with 12 service points and 11 kills, while Valarie Cerveny had nine kills. Jada James added nine digs, while Hannah Cerveny tallied nine assists.

Gresham, which already won the CWC-North title, improved to 13-6 overall.

Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 3

Bowler 1

Bowler dropped the final two sets of a CWC-North clash against Wisconsin Valley Lutheran in Bowler on Tuesday. WVL won by scores of 25-20, 24-26, 25-18, 25-19.

Brooke Thiex finished with 11 assists and eight attack kills for Bowler, while Kayla Pecore had six total kills, six digs and three aces.

Ireland DeRoos also had six total kills for the Panthers. Alyssa Strassburg finished with 13 assists and seven attack kills, while Tynea Johnson had five digs.

Xavier 3

Shawano 1

Shawano dropped a Bay Conference home match to Xavier on Tuesday.

Michael Klement scored Shawano’s goal in the 14th minute, with Caden Tetting assisting on the play.

Shawano goalie JJ Pyatskowit made 13 saves on the night.

Schultz reps WVL at invite

Leo Schultz was the lone Wisconsin Valley Lutheran runner to compete in the Lena Invite on Tuesday, placing 36th in the boys race.

Schultz finished the course in 23 minutes, 9 seconds.
