Top-seeded Gresham cruised to a Division 4 regional title win over second-seeded Bowler in Gresham on Saturday. The Wildcats won by scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-15 and will now prepare for a sectional semifinal against second-seeded Wabeno/Laona on Thursday.

Karisa Nietzer totaled 19 kills, 14 service points and seven aces to lead Gresham in the win. Valarie Cerveny contributed 12 service points and 10 digs, while Hannah Cerveny had 15 assists.

Gresham's Brooklyn Hoffman finished with 10 assists, Jayden Jensen posted 11 digs and Makayla Belongia chipped in with six kills.

Ireland DeRoos and Alyssa Strassburg each finished with five attack kills for Bowler, while Kayla Pecore and Brooke Thiex had three each.

Thiex led the team with eight assists, while Strassburg had five. DeRoos also finished with a team-leading five digs, while Morgan Paiser served three aces.

BOYS SOCCER

Waupaca 6

Shawano 0

Fifth-seeded Shawano was blanked in a Division 3 regional final in Waupaca on Saturday.

JJ Pyatskowit, Jared Sackett and Kaden Cox all spent time defending the net for Shawano. Pyatskowit had eight saves, while Cox had four and Sackett two.

The Hawks end the season with a 7-13-2 record.

Top-seeded Waupaca will host a sectional semifinal match on Thursday.

Columbus Catholic 3

Gresham/Bowler 2

Third-seeded Gresham/Bowler came up just short of a Division 4 regional title against second-seeded Columbus Catholic in Marshfield on Saturday.

Columbus Catholic will travel to take on top-seeded Arcadia in a sectional semifinal on Thursday.
