GIRLS TENNIS

Pulaski duo falls after battle at state

The Pulaski No. 1 doubles team of Madeline Diefenthaler and Ruth Krause dropped a match to Greendale’s Natasa Pupovac and Katarina Zrnic at the WIAA Girls Tennis Individual Championship on Oct. 13 in Madison.

Diefenthaler and Krause fell by scores of 6-2, 6-0.

The Red Raider pair finished the season with a 15-10 record.

BOYS SOCCER

Pulaski 8

Manitowoc Lincoln 0

Pulaski eased past Manitowoc Lincoln in a Fox River Classic Conference match on Oct. 13 in Pulaski. The Red Raiders capped the regular season with a 15-4-1 record and 5-3-1 mark in the FRCC.

Maddox McKeefry, Luke Hanstedt and Dylan Carley all scored a goal in the first 10 minutes to put Pulaski ahead. Hayden Burkel, Austin Lipsey and Chase Ambrosius were credited with the assists on the goals.

Burkel, Carley, McKeefry, Hanstedt and Austin Decker scored in the second half. Ambrosius, Burkel and Hudson Schultz were credited with assists.

Pulaski goalies Mason Baker and Gave Haldemann combined for just one save, with the hosts holding a 29-1 advantage in shots on goal in the match.

VOLLEYBALL

Suring finishes 2-0 at triangular

Suring knocked off Niagara (25-22, 13-25, 25-20, 25-20) and Wausaukee (27-25, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-8) during a triangular on Oct. 13 in Suring.

Suring’s Christine Sleeter recorded 31 total kills, 17 assists and six aces across the two matches. McKenzie Chesterfield tallied 18 total kills, while Bailey Stuart had 10 total kills and five aces.

Macie Reed finished the night with 19 assists and eight total kills for the Eagles. MaShya Seefeldt posted 10 assists and nine digs, while MacKenzie Bailey served three aces.

Gresham 3

Menominee Indian 0

Gresham capped its regular season with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-20 sweep of Menominee Indian on Oct. 13 in Keshena.

Chloe Bohl led Gresham with 12 kills, while Jessa Jensen chipped in six kills.

Lexi Baddmoccosin-Barnes led the Wildcats with 16 assists. Josie Cerveny tallied 13 service points, while Maddie Haffner had seven digs.

Bonduel 3

Algoma 0

Bonduel knocked off Algoma by scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-18 on Oct. 13 in Algoma.

Hailee Thompson totaled 23 assists and four kills for Bonduel, while Macy Niles had 12 digs and three aces.

Audrey Weier posted nine kills for the Bears. Josie Anvelink chipped in seven kills.

Pulaski 3

Green Bay Preble 0

Pulaski swept Green Bay Preble by scores of 25-8, 25-20, 25-15 in a FRCC match on Oct. 13 in Pulaski.

Gianna Logue led Pulaski with eight attack kills, while Alexia Thibodeau had six. Logue also had three total blocks.

Emily Bruss recorded 22 assists and 11 digs for the Red Raiders. Hailey Wiedeman posted a team-leading 21 digs, while Ashton Birr had 11 and Thibodeau nine.

Gillett wins pair at triangular

Gillett defeated St. Thomas Aquinas Academy (25-16, 25-9, 25-13) and Oneida Nation (25-13, 25-10, 23-25, 25-21) during a triangular on Oct. 13 in Gillett.

Hailey Elsner led Gillett with 22 total kills on the night, while Halle Fisher tallied 17 and Bella Matczak 11. Reece Franti posted a team-leading 16 digs, while Cilena Guns had 12. Mia Soper and Fisher tallied 10 digs each and Elsner had eight.

Guns also served nine aces on the night, with Elsner and Soper at six aces each.

Witt-Birn 3

Antigo 0

Wittenberg-Birnamwood eased to a 25-12, 25-8, 25-21 nonconference win over Antigo on Oct. 13 in Antigo.

London Metropulos and Reese Rogowski each had eight attack kills for Witt-Birn, while Metropulos also had nine digs.

Payton Foster posted 12 assists, nine digs and two block kills for the Chargers. Kiara Deruchowski served 16 times, including seven aces. Melaina Granquist contributed three block kills, while Layla Huffman had two block kills.

Waupaca 3

Oconto Falls 2

Oconto Falls fell to Waupaca in a North Eastern Conference battle on Oct. 13 in Oconto Falls. The visitors won by scores of 22-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-17, 15-12.

Amber Otto powered Oconto Falls with 28 attack kills, 10 digs and six aces. Brailyn St. Louis added 17 attack kills and seven digs, while Morgan Moynihan and Hanna Krejcarek had 23 assists each.

Kyndra Staidl led the Panthers with 17 digs. Krejcarek added 11 digs, while Madison Uelmen had 10. Keira Cole finished with three total blocks and Krejcarek served three aces.

Almond-Bancroft 3

Tigerton 0

Tigerton lost a Central Wisconsin Conference crossover match to Almond-Bancroft on Oct. 13 in Almond, falling by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-16.

Samantha Suehring posted 19 digs and 12 service points for Tigerton. McKenzie Hoffman recorded 10 service points, eight assists and seven digs, while Jade Selle contributed seven digs.

Skyler Hauser finished the match with 19 digs and 17 total kills. Abby Swartz was credited with 10 digs and seven total kills.
