SOFTBALL

Tigerton 8

Marion 3

Tigerton earned a Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division win over Marion on May 4 in Tigerton. A four-run second inning helped the Tigers build a lead.

Leandra Kalwitz had three singles and four RBIs for Tigerton in the win, while Adrienne Brady added two singles and two RBIs. McKenzie Hoffman drove in a pair of runs, and Skyler Hauser had two singles.

Brady also earned the win in the circle, pitching all seven innings.

Bonduel 12

Rosholt 1 (5 inn.)

Bonduel rolled to a CWC crossover victory over Rosholt May 4 in Bonduel.

Lila Pleshek led Bonduel at the plate, driving in three runs on two hits. Nicole Koeller drove in two runs, while Hailey Thomson also drove in a run.

Nakiyah Henning pitched all five innings to earn the win, striking out four batters along the way.

Lena/STAA 24

Bowler 12 (5 inn.)

Bowler was doubled up by Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy in a nonconference matchup May 4 in Bowler.

Bowler scored seven runs in the opening inning, but Lena/STAA used a six-run second and an 11-run third to surge ahead for good.

Brandi Spencer had two RBIs and scored twice for Bowler, while Morgan Paiser reached base twice and scored two runs. McKayla Putnam drove in two runs, and Weengeetah Mohawk scored twice.

Putnam suffered the loss in the circle.

BASEBALL

Marion 7

Tigerton 5 (9 inn.)

Marion earned an extra-inning victory over Tigerton in CWC-North action May 4 in Tigerton. Hunter Milanowski delivered the game-winning two-RBI double for Marion.

Jaden Stuhr finished with three hits, including a home run, for Marion. Ryan Malueg doubled twice among his three hits, while Jay Brei added two hits.

Stuhr earned the win after striking out 14 batters across the final five innings. Carter Goke worked the first four innings, striking out four along the way.

Loghan Wanta had two hits for Tigerton, while Zeke Griepentrog homered and drove in a pair. Isaac Schoen added two hits and a RBI. Mitchell Zimdars, Schoen and Kaeden Miller all pitched, with Miller being dealt the loss after working the final two innings.

Bonduel 7

Oconto 2

Bonduel improved to 5-0 overall after earning a nonconference win over Oconto May 4 in Bonduel. The Bears used a four-run fifth inning to break a tie game.

Noah Weier earned the win after pitching three innings and allowing a pair of runs. Mason Bohm worked the first three innings, striking out six along the way. Cole Anderson pitched the final frame.

Bohm had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Bears at the plate. Garrett Engel drove in two runs, while Carson Robaidek scored three times.

Lena/STAA 8

Bowler 2

Bowler couldn’t get its bats going in a nonconference matchup with Lena/STAA May 4 in Bowler.

Gavin Klose and Brock Strassburg each drove in a run in the seventh inning for Bowler. Lane Schultz and Karter Kolpack scored the runs.

Logan Thiex and Lane Schultz each pitched three innings for Bowler, with each pitcher allowing two runs. Ashwuut Mohawk and Beau Brunner combined to work the top of the seventh inning.

BOYS GOLF

Shawano finishes 2nd at Bay meet

Shawano earned a team score of 163, just behind Xavier (161) during a Bay Conference meet May 4 at Mid Vallee Golf Course in De Pere.

Lucas te Plate led Shawano with a nine-hole round of 38. Owen Moesch fired a round of 40.

Kaden Marcell (42), Andrew Puissant (43) and Gage Gorman (46) rounded out the team.

GIRLS SOCCER

West De Pere 11

Shawano 1

Shawano couldn't keep up with West De Pere in a Bay Conference match May 4 in Shawano.

Kaylee Rindt scored Shawano's goal 17 minutes, 19 seconds into the first period to make it a 2-1 contest, but the Hawks couldn't deliver another goal the rest of the match.

"We’re continuing to build on fundamentals and working to build this program back up to where it should be," said Shawano coach Emily Stepanek. "We have a lot of raw talent that we are working on refining and harnessing. We’re looking forward to improving with each game."
