Bears set new school records at invitational

Bonduel's Ryan Westrich and Josie Anvelink each set new school records for indoor shot put during the Seymour Invitational on March 23 in Seymour. Westrich set the record with a throw of 47 feet, 1 inch, while Anvelink had a top throw of 34-1½.

Also placing first for the Bears was Mariah Wondra in the 1,600 (6 minutes, 0.97 seconds), Ben O'Brien in the 1,600 (5:44.16), Karter Schroeder in the 400 (1:03.29), Cierra Schnell in the 200 hurdles (36.62), Parker Perry in the 800 (2:27), Kendra Troxel in the long jump (15-9½), Sam Roberts in the long jump (18-2½) and Ashlyn Kurey in the triple jump (32-4¼).

The Bonduel boys 4x200 relay team of Josiah Basten, Joseph Krings, Perry and Westrich was first in 1:54.41. The girls 4x400 relay team of Troxel, Wondra, Schnell and Kurey earned first in 5:12.96.
