BOYS BASKETBALL

Lena 73

STAA 25

Lena cruised to a Marinette & Oconto Conference victory over St. Thomas Aquinas Academy on Jan. 13 in Lena.

Logan Shallow led a balanced Lena attack with 17 points, while Max Beyer had 16 points. Sidney Sylvester added 12 points.

Logan Graef tallied nine points for the Wildcats, and Bladyn Anderson chipped in seven points.

Lena led 41-12 at halftime.

Bowler 66

WVL 25

Bowler rolled to a Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division win over Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on Jan. 13 in Mosinee.

Tristan Thiex led Bowler with 21 points and also pulled down 14 rebounds. Emmitt Kietlinski added 19 points, while Beau Brunner had 16 points.

Bowler led 45-16 at halftime and is now 6-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

Shiocton 71

Menominee Indian 62

Menominee Indian dropped a CWC-East matchup to Shiocton on Jan. 13 in Keshena.

Isaiah Moss and Lloyd Reevis each scored 15 points for Menominee Indian.

The Eagles dropped to 6-4 on the season.

Bonduel 42

Bonduel couldn't hold a one-point halftime lead in a CWC-East road loss to Iola-Scandinavia on Jan. 13 in Iola.

Charlie Tauchen led Bonduel with 12 points on the night. Noah Weier added nine points, while Josiah Basten and Karter Schroeder had eight points each.

Suring 26

Suring dropped a M&O matchup to Coleman on Jan. 13 in Suring.

Taron Haak led Suring with seven points, while Ethan Lally had six.

WRESTLING

Shawano 47

New London 34

Shawano picked up a big Bay Conference dual win over New London on Jan. 13 in New London.

Damien Wudtke (120), Piper Novitski (126) and Jackson Smits (220) led Shawano with pins in their matches. Noah Jones (160) won by technical fall, 18-3.

Carsen Herm (145), Caden Young (170), Andrew Popp (182) and Sheldon Krueger (195) all earned forfeit wins for the Hawks.

Witt-Birn goes 2-1 at quad

Wittenberg-Birnamwood earned dual wins over Bonduel (42-33) and Edgar (54-12) while dropping a dual to Cadott (58-18) during a quad on Jan. 13 in Wittenberg.

In the win over Bonduel, Owen Schultz (152), Nathan Waupekenay (195), David Gauderman (220), Dominic Weso (285), Pierson Potrykus (126), Andres Sanchez (132) and Max Kersten (145) all won by pin for Witt-Birn.

Chase Kitsemble (170), Braeden Groshek (160), Gauderman (220), Potrykus (126) and Kersten (138) all won by pin against Edgar. Cain Schiller (182), Easton Davis (120), Waupekenay (195) and Sanchez (132) all won by forfeit.

Waupekenay (195) and Weso (285) had pins for the Chargers against Cadott, while Davis (120) won by forfeit.

Bonduel finishes 1-2 at quad

Along with its 42-33 loss to Witt-Birn, Bonduel topped Edgar (45-24) and lost to Cadott (58-21) during the Jan. 13 quad in Wittenberg.

Tyson Bogacz (160) and Parker Perry (170) won by pin for Bonduel against Edgar, while Madalyn Sokolski (138) earned an 8-6 decision win. Donovan Vigue (182), Michael Kieler (195), Jaxon Bogacz (106), Hailey Berg (120) and Colin Fischer (132) all won by forfeit.

Against Witt-Birn, Tyson Bogacz (160), Perry (170) and Vigue (182) all won by pin, while Berg (120) claimed a 2-1 decision win. Jaxon Bogacz (106) and Fischer (138) earned forfeit wins.

HOCKEY

Chequamegon co-op 5

Shawano co-op 3

The Shawano co-op dropped a nonconference matchup to the Chequamegon co-op on Jan. 13 at the Crawford Center in Shawano.

Shawano netted the first goal, as Blake Knope scored off an assist from Jacob Davids. The visitors responded with the next three goals.

Louis Hrabik scored the Shawano co-op's second goal in the second period off assists from Noah Davids and Hunter Jones. The visitors tallied the next goal before Hrabik scored an unassisted goal for the final goal in the second period.

The visitors netted the lone goal in the third period to cap the scoring.

Shawano goalie Dylan Prochaska was credited with 34 saves in the contest.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Gresham 61

Wausaukee 36

Gresham dominated the second half to pick up a nonconference win over Wausaukee on Jan. 13 in Gresham. The Wildcats outscored the Rangers 34-16 in the final half.

Hannah Cerveny led a balanced Gresham offensive attack with 16 points, while Valarie Cerveny had 15.

Janay Pecore-Kirkland added 11 points for the Wildcats. Maddie Haffner tallied nine points, while Chloe Bohl had eight points.
