Wittenberg-Birnamwood 67

Clintonville 65 (OT)

Abi Fraaza hit a shot at the buzzer to help third-seeded Wittenberg-Birnamwood take down sixth-seeded Clintonville in overtime of a Division 3 regional semifinal playoff game in Wittenberg. Fraaza took the inbound pass and drove the length of the court before knocking down the game-winning shot.

Fraaza tallied 30 points and eight rebounds in the contest. Emma Herb added 13 points and six boards, while Olivia Curley had 10 points and eight steals. Amara Schoepke also had eight rebounds.

“Tonight was a great game with two teams battling to the end,” said Witt-Birn coach Nick Mechelke. “There were a couple lead changes late in the game. We saw some big plays from Elly Arndt (of Clintonville) and Abi Fraaza.”

Witt-Birn will travel to take on second-seeded Freedom on Saturday for the regional final.

Arndt and Erin Viergutz each scored 21 points for Clintonville. Lauren Zwirschitz chipped in eight points, while Selina Torrez had seven.

Bonduel 62

Manawa 25

Top-seeded Bonduel rolled to a Division 4 regional semifinal victory over eighth-seeded Manawa on Friday in Bonduel. The Bears led 33-8 at halftime.

Allaina Robaidek totaled 16 points, five steals and four assists to lead Bonduel. Kara Troxel contributed 14 points, four steals, three assists and seven rebounds.

The Bears will host fourth-seeded Crivitz for the regional title on Saturday.

New London 58

Shawano 32

Sixth-seeded Shawano came up short in a Division 2 regional semifinal clash with third-seeded New London on Friday in New London.

New London will travel to face second-seeded Rhinelander for the regional title on Saturday.

Crandon 73

Menominee Indian 35

Seventh-seeded Menominee Indian couldn’t keep pace with second-seeded Crandon in a Division 4 regional semifinal on Friday in Crandon.

Crandon will host second-seeded St. Mary Catholic in a regional title game on Saturday.

Newman Catholic 67

Gresham 29

Eighth-seeded Gresham dropped a Division 5 regional semifinal game to top-seeded Newman Catholic on Friday in Wausau.

Newman Catholic will host fourth-seeded Prentice for a regional title on Saturday.

Hannah Cerveny tallied 12 points to lead Gresham on the offensive end of the floor. Destiny Reindl added eight points.

Gresham scored just 10 second-half points.
