GIRLS BASKETBALL

Gresham 67

Northland Lutheran 51

Gresham earned a Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division victory over Northland Lutheran on Dec. 2 in Kronenwetter. Gresham scored 48 points in the opening half and led by 20 points at the break.

Maddie Haffner knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 28 points to power Gresham. She scored 20 points in the opening half.

Josie Cerveny chipped in 10 points for the Wildcats, while Rylie Kakwitch had eight points. Chloe Bohl and Janay Pecore-Kirkland each contributed seven points.

Lena 64

Crivitz 35

Lena routed Crivitz in a Marinette & Oconto Conference clash on Dec. 2 in Lena. Nine different Wildcats scored in the win.

Whitney Potter hit eight shots and led Lena with 18 points. Chaela Rabas was also in double figures with 10 points.

Eva Brooks tallied nine points for Lena, while Claire Brooks had eight. Natalie McNurlen added seven points and Breanna Koslowsky had six points.

Suring 54

STAA 22

Suring eased past St. Thomas Aquinas Academy in an M&O matchup on Dec. 2 in Marinette.

MacKenzie Bailey led Suring with 15 points, 11 rebounds and nine steals, while Emma Kristof had 12 points and four steals.

Emily Peterson chipped in eight points and grabbed six rebounds for the Eagles. Hailey VanRens tallied six points, six assists and five rebounds.

Parker Zahn and Georgia Gerndt both pulled down six boards for Suring, while Hailey Thomson had seven. Kaylee Otradovec was credited with five steals.

Witt-Birn 62

Shiocton 31

Wittenberg-Birnamwood cruised past Shiocton in a CWC-East matchup on Dec. 2 in Wittenberg. The Chargers made 11 3-pointers to only eight 2-point shots.

Rory Salvesen hit three 3-pointers and scored a team-leading 19 points for Witt-Birn. Reese Rogowski and Melaina Granquist each hit three triples and scored 16 points. Jami Wendler chipped in six points.

Salvesen was also credited with nine steals, six rebounds and five assists. Rogowski tallied eight boards and three assists, while Granquist grabbed six boards.

Allison Linke finished the contest with six rebounds and four steals for the Chargers.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Luxemburg-Casco 62

Oconto Falls 49

Oconto Falls dropped a North Eastern Conference contest against Luxemburg-Casco on Dec. 2 in Luxemburg.

Grayson Cahak led Oconto Falls with 18 points. Kody Vorpahl chipped in 12 points for the Panthers.

WRESTLING

Shawano girls perform well in Kimberly

Several Shawano girls earned strong finishes during a tournament on Dec. 2 in Kimberly.

Onna Hermann and Macey Nelson led Shawano with first-place finishes.

Hallie Wondra, Jenna Moede, Caitlyn Moede, Courtney Schenk and Harry Fritz all placed second for the Hawks. Vivian Waldburger earned a third-place finish.
