BOYS BASKETBALL

Shawano 87

Merrill 54

Shawano cruised to a nonconference win over Merrill on Dec. 2 in Shawano.

Jayden VanOss led Shawano with 16 points, scoring them all in the second half. Michael Metcalf-Grassman scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half.

Trevon Matchopatow tallied 10 points for the Hawks, while Elliott Lowney, Luke Guenther and Brandon Reed chipped in seven points each.

Shawano outscored Merrill 49-28 in the second half to pull away.

Bowler 48

Gillett 44

Bowler rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to take down Gillett in a nonconference battle on Dec. 2 in Gillett.

Emmitt Kietlinski posted a double-double for Bowler in the win, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Wylee Dodge tallied 15 points for the Panthers, while Beau Brunner added 13 points.

Brandon DeBauch posted 10 points to lead Gillett offensively. Ben Matczak added nine points, while Austin VandeCorput had seven.

Lena 45

Stockbridge 43

Lena edged Stockbridge in a nonconference clash on Dec. 2 in Lena.

Max Beyer powered Lena with 21 points, including three 3-pointers. Logan Shallow and Bryce Kittredge both added seven points for the Wildcats.

Beyer also had eight rebounds and three assists, while Shallow tallied eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kittredge knocked down the go-ahead free throws with 12.4 seconds to play.

Lena scored six more points at the free-throw line.

Green Bay West 56

Menominee Indian 54

Menominee Indian rallied from a nine-point deficit with three minutes to play, but eventually came up short in a nonconference game against Green Bay West on Dec. 2 in Green Bay.

Allen Smith led Menominee Indian with 16 points, while Isaiah Moss added 13 points. Lloyd Reevis provided 10 points for the Eagles.

Tri-County 62

Tigerton 46

Tigerton came up short in a Central Wisconsin Conference crossover matchup despite a big game from Zeke Griepentrog on Dec. 2 in Plainfield.

Griepentrog scored 27 points in the contest, 13 of which came at the free-throw line. He also had five steals.

Ethan Carlson posted seven points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Tigers. Asher Michaelis had 10 rebounds and three steals, while Loghan Wanta pulled down six boards.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Tigerton 37

Tri-County 28

Tigerton dominated the second half to claim a CWC crossover win over Tri-County on Dec. 2 in Tigerton.

Tigerton trailed 15-8 at halftime before outscoring Tri-County 29-13 in the final 18 minutes.

Abby Swartz recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Tigerton on the court. Elizabeth Robbins added 11 points and had four steals.

Freedom 66

Oconto Falls 36

Oconto Falls couldn't keep up with Freedom in a North Eastern Conference matchup on Dec. 2 in Oconto Falls.

Alexis Euclide led Oconto Falls with 16 points, while also tallying three steals. Hailey Peitersen chipped in 11 points.

Grace Oninski, Jaden Reed and Kati Raddatz all had four rebounds for the Panthers.

WRESTLING

Bonduel 71

Rosholt 0

Bonduel dominated Rosholt in a CWC dual on Dec. 2 in Rosholt.

Tyson Bogacz (170), Parker Perry (182) and Donovan Vigue (195) won by pin to lead Bonduel. Colin Fischer (132) earned a 17-0 technical fall win.

Jaxon Bogacz (106), Hailey Berg (120), Cooper Salerno (126), Madalyn Sokolski (138), Hunter Bougie (145), Jose Lagunes (152), Evan Wilcox (160) and Vance Paholke (220) all earned forfeit wins.

Witt-Birn starts year with 3 wins

Wittenberg-Birnamwood earned wins over Amherst (33-30), Menasha (54-30) and New London (42-33) on Dec. 2 in Wittenberg.

In the CWC win over Amherst, Nico Pelusi (152), Cain Schiller (170) and Jacob Tomlinson (220) had wins by pin for Witt-Birn. Coye Brillowski (195) claimed a 12-5 decision win, while Pierson Potrykus (132) and Max Kersten (145) earned forfeit wins.

Against Menasha, Potrykus (132), Kersten (145), Pelusi (152), Chase Kitsemble (160) and David Gauderman (220) won by pin. Andres Sanchez (138), Braeden Groshek (170), Gavin Esker (182) and Brillowski (195) had forfeit wins.

Potrykus (132), Kersten (145), Pelusi (152) and Kitsemble (160) pinned their opponents against New London. Groshek (170), Esker (182) and Brillowski (195) won by forfeit.

Oconto Falls earned a NEC dual win over Wrightstown on Dec. 2 in Wrightstown.

Parker Peterson (126), Jaden Ganter (132), Luke Trepanier (138), Clayton Whiting (195), Luke Gilbertson (220) and Cole Bozile (113) all won by pin for Oconto Falls.

Nick Trepanier (182) and Graeson Pankratz (120) picked up decision wins for the Panthers.
