GIRLS BASKETBALL

Witt-Birn 60

Abbotsford 40

Wittenberg-Birnamwood outscored Abbotsford 34-18 in the second half to pull away and claim a nonconference victory on Dec. 15 in Abbotsford.

Witt-Birn's Emma Herb finished the contest with 24 points, 18 rebounds and three steals. Reese Rogowski contributed 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals.

Jadalynn Davids grabbed six rebounds for the Chargers. Amara Schoepke led the team with three assists.

"We came out slow in the first half. We just looked sluggish and couldn't get anything to fall tonight," said Witt-Birn coach Nick Mechelke. "We played much better in the second half to open it up on both ends of the court."

Pittsville 41

Tigerton 22

Tigerton dropped a Central Wisconsin Conference crossover clash against Pittsville on Dec. 15 in Tigerton.

Savannah Swartz scored eight points and had five steals to lead Tigerton. Bethany Jobe grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds.

WRESTLING

Manawa 28

Bonduel 27

Bonduel dropped a CWC dual to Manawa on a tiebreaker on Dec. 15 in Manawa.

The tiebreaker came in the first head-to-head matchup of the night. Manawa's wrestler scored more points in the match —and eventually won by pin — than any of Bonduel's wrestlers did in the matches they won.

Kaden Bergsbaken (195) won by pin for Bonduel, while Donovan Vigue (182) won a 10-7 decision. Jayson Toellner (138), Tyson Bogacz (152) and Max Sokolski (170) all won by forfeit.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Wautoma 76

Witt-Birn 72

Witt-Birn's rally came up just short in a nonconference loss to Wautoma on Dec. 15 in Wautoma. The Chargers trailed 39-23 at halftime.

Jack Fraaza and Simon Schairer led Witt-Birn, scoring 22 and 20 points respectively. Ben Wesolowski added 15 points, while Ben Flak had 14.

The Chargers missed 15 free throws in the contest.

Pacelli 73

Tigerton 38

Tigerton couldn't keep up with Pacelli in a CWC crossover matchup on Dec. 15 in Stevens Point.

Kaeden Miller scored 11 points to lead Tigerton on the offensive end. Ryder Graham tallied seven points and eight rebounds, while Asher Michaelis pulled down nine boards.
