Gresham/Bowler finishes 0-2-1 at home tournament

Gresham/Bowler lost 5-0 to Clintonville and 3-1 to Antigo while tying Amherst 1-1 during the 35th annual Wildcat Kickoff Tournament on Aug. 27 in Gresham.

Interim coach Cory Bougie said the co-op only had 10 players for its game against Clintonville and was impressed for playing as it did.

Fynn Bennett, playing for the first time with the co-op, scored on a direct kick against Antigo.

Colby Belongia netted the co-op’s goal in the third match, when the team had a full lineup on the field and two subs. Cody Mehlberg and Edward Castellanos helped set up the goal.

Shawano/Bonduel 5th at invite

Shawano/Bonduel earned 153 points to take fifth place out of six teams competing at the Raider Invite on Aug. 27 in Wisconsin Rapids.

The co-op's 200-yard medley relay team of Alli Brown, Lila Melchoir, Autumn Bunker and Bre Anderson led the team with a sixth-place finish in 2 minutes, 31.56 seconds.

Individually, Bunker took seventh in the 100 butterfly (1:22.49) and eighth in the 500 freestyle (7:56:05), while Brown placed eighth in the 200 IM (2:56.58). Brynn Hannes claimed seventh in the 500 freestyle (7:49.76).
