BASEBALL

Witt-Birn 11

Manawa 1 (6 inn.)

Wittenberg-Birnamwood rolled to a Central Wisconsin Conference crossover win over Manawa on April 19 in Manawa. The Chargers scored six runs in the second inning to run away with the game.

Pierson Potrykus, Ian Salvesen, Ben Wesolowski and Max Fraaza each drove in two runs for Witt-Birn. Potrykus and Wesolowski tallied three hits each, while Mason Meverden, Carter Herb and Salvesen had two each.

Kaden Schmidt, Salvesen and Potrykus all scored two runs. Wesolowski stole two bases.

Calvin Scheurer earned the win on the mound, striking out five batters and allowing just one run over four innings. Potrykus and Max Kersten worked a scoreless inning each.

Shiocton 6

Bonduel 3

Bonduel was doubled up by Shiocton in a CWC-East clash on April 19 in Bonduel.

Noah Weier drove in two runs on three hits to lead Bonduel at the plate. Bennett Engel was the only other Bear to post a hit.

Mason Bohm was dealt the loss on the mound after allowing four runs across five innings. He struck out seven batters.

De Pere 8

Pulaski 3

Pulaski dropped a Fox River Classic Conference game to De Pere on April 19 in De Pere.

Max Burdette had two hits and two RBIs for Pulaski. Kyle Olson also posted two hits.

Michael Molten took the loss on the hill after allowing four runs across 2⅓ innings. Jacob McDonald, Braeden Eron and Jonah Klingeisen also pitched in the game for the Red Raiders.

SOFTBALL

Witt-Birn 12

Menominee Indian 5

Witt-Birn took advantage of 11 walks to down Menominee Indian in a CWC-East matchup on April 19 in Wittenberg.

The Chargers scored at least one run in the first five innings, including a five-run third and three-run fifth.

Jami Wendler picked up the win in the circle for Witt-Birn, while Aniya Peters was dealt the loss for Menominee Indian.

Port Edwards 17

Tigerton 11

Tigerton dropped a CWC crossover game to Port Edwards on April 19 in Port Edwards.

Angel Welch drove in three runs for Tigerton, while Skyler Hauser and McKenzie Hoffman had two RBIs each. Hauser, Hoffman, Jess Zimdars and Sienna Breaker all scored twice.

Hauser and Welch each pitched three innings for the Tigers. Welch took the loss and struck out three batters, while Hauser had one strikeout.

GIRLS SOCCER

Xavier 5

Shawano 3

Shawano dropped a Bay Conference match to Xavier on April 19 in Shawano.

Shawano's first goal came on a corner kick from Abigail Rabideau at the 9:17 mark of the opening half, with Adison Moesch scoring the goal. Evony Perez scored off an assist from Annie Carrier at the 27:35 mark to tie the game.

Trinity Popelka had Shawano's third goal at the 63:45 mark, with Faith Lammers assisting.

Notre Dame 4

Pulaski 1

Pulaski lost a FRCC match to Notre Dame on April 19 in Pulaski.

After falling behind 2-0, Pulaski's Gianna Logue scored in the 69th minute off an assist from Bella Logue. Notre Dame answered with the next two goals to seal up the match.

Pulaski goalie Peighton Brandenburg stopped nine shots.
