BASEBALL

Gresham 6

Manawa 1

Gresham toppled Manawa in a Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division contest on April 11 on the back of a strong start from Lukas Pecore.

Pecore struck out 12 batters across six innings to pick up the win. He allowed one hit and one walk while not allowing an earned run.

Belasaire Vele led Gresham at the plate with three hits and a run batted in. Austin Sperberg had two hits and also drove in a run.

Marion 15

Tigerton 0 (5 inn.)

Marion cruised to a CWC-North win over Tigerton on April 11 in Marion.

Ryan Malueg led Marion at the plate with three singles and a walk, while Alex Zimmerman had two hits and three RBIs. Jaden Stuhr also got on base four times, with a triple and three walks. Stuhr and Jackson Krohn drove in two runs each.

Stuhr earned the win on the mound after striking out nine batters over four innings. He allowed one hit and two walks. Nick Malueg worked the final inning.

Shawano splits doubleheader

Shawano split a Bay Conference doubleheader with New London on April 11 in Shawano, winning game one 4-3 and losing 3-1 in game two.

Shawano’s Carson Popp drove in Jacob Polzin in the bottom of the seventh to win game one. Popp finished with three hits and two RBIs, while Polzin had two hits. Ashton Henning pitched three innings and allowed two runs before Andrew Popp earned the win after surrendering one run over the final four frames.

The Hawks outhit the Bulldogs 7-3 in game two, but could only tally one run in the final inning. Carson Popp led the team with three hits and a RBI, with Bryce Popp scoring the run.

Bryce Popp took the loss in game two after allowing three runs over 2⅓ innings. Polzin worked the final 4⅔ innings, striking out four and surrendering just one hit.

Gillett/Suring 10

Niagara 6

A five-run first inning sparked Gillett/Suring to a Marinette & Oconto Conference win over Niagara on April 11 in Gillett.

Brady Kristof, Alex Kershner and Mikey Pecanas all drove in two runs for the co-op. Pecanas and Taron Haak finished with two hits each, while Haak also walked twice and scored three runs. Austin Vande Corput and Kristof scored two runs.

Keegan Rattin started on the mound and worked 2⅔ innings, striking out six. Haak earned the win after pitching the next two innings. Ethan Lally got the next four outs before Carter Whisman pitched the final inning.

Crivitz 11

Lena 6

Lena dropped a M&O game to Crivitz on April 11 in Crivitz

Logan Shallow and Bryce Kittredge each tallied two hits for Lena. Logan Graef and Shallow scored two runs each.

Lane Whiting was dealt the loss on the mound.

Amherst 7

Bonduel 1

Bonduel had three hits and a run in the first inning, but couldn’t score again in a CWC-East loss to Amherst on April 11 in Amherst.

Noah Weier and Colin Margelofsky posted two hits each for Bonduel.

Mason Bohm was dealt the loss after allowing four runs across three innings. He struck out four batters.

Ashwaubenon 13

Pulaski 2 (5 inn.)

Errors hurt Pulaski in a Fox River Classic Conference loss to Ashwaubenon on April 11 in Ashwaubenon. Four errors led to five unearned runs and a couple of big innings for the hosts.

Max Burdette tallied two hits and drove in a pair to lead Pulaski at the plate.

Michael Molten started and took the loss on the hill after getting three outs. Michael Wyent pitched 2⅓ innings, while Will Friedman got two outs.

SOFTBALL

Marion 8

Tigerton 7 (8 inn.)

Ashley Fischer drove in Morgan Schwartz in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Marion a thrilling CWC-North win over Tigerton on April 11 in Marion.

Schwartz picked up the win in the circle after pitching all eight innings. She struck out 14 batters.

Dacotah Yonker scored three runs for Marion, while Hailey Krueger scored twice.

Abby Swartz had two hits and two RBIs to lead Tigerton at the plate. Skyler Hauser stole two bases and scored twice, while Angel Welch got on base three times. Hauser was dealt the loss after pitching the entire game.

North Fond du Lac 30

Menominee Indian 11 (5 inn.)

Menominee Indian dropped a wild nonconference game to North Fond du Lac on April 11 in Keshena.

North Fond du Lac led 25-0 after three innings before Menominee Indian plated 11 runs in the fourth. The visitors added five runs in the fifth to cap the scoring.

Gabriella Wayka and Jacie Chevalier each drove in two runs for Menominee Indian. Aniya Peters, Ashlee Corn and Alexis Wilber all scored twice.

Peters took the loss after working 3⅔ innings. Wilber got the last four outs.

Manawa 22

Bowler/Gresham 1 (3 inn.)

Bowler/Gresham dropped a CWC-North game to Manawa on April 11 in Manawa.

Weengeetah Mohawk had the co-op's only hit and scored the team's run. She took the loss in the circle after pitching both innings.

Clintonville 8

Oconto Falls 5

Oconto Falls lost a North Eastern Conference game to Clintonville on April 11 in Oconto Falls.

Jamesen Engel and Lily Kurek each drove in two runs on clutch hits for Oconto Falls.

Kurek took the loss in the circle after pitching the first four innings. Randi Metzler worked the final three frames.

GIRLS SOCCER

West De Pere 1

Pulaski 0

Pulaski dropped a tight nonconference match to West De Pere on April 11 in De Pere.

West De Pere scored with 24 seconds remaining in the contest to nab the win.

Peighton Brandenburg made eight saves while defending the net for the Red Raiders.

Shawano 1

Ashwaubenon 1

Shawano settled for a tie with Ashwaubenon in a nonconference match on April 11 in Ashwaubenon.

After Ashwaubenon took the lead early in the second half, Shawano's Abigail Rabideau netted the equalizer on a penalty kick in the 44th minute.

Brynlie Boyles made four saves for the Hawks.

Shawano 0

Shawano dropped a Bay Conference match at Bay Port on April 11 in Green Bay.

Shawano's No. 1 doubles team of Tristan Sheldon and George Buerman scored the most points on the team in their matchup.
